WashU Men's Track and Field Wins Third UAA Indoor Title in a Row

The Washington University in St. Louis men's track and field team won its third consecutive UAA indoor title on Sunday after totaling 144 points across two days.

Junior William Houser won the mile title with a time of 4:16.45.
 
Senior Gio Alfred claimed the title in the 60m hurdles, racing to a time of 8.17.
 
Junior Tommaso Maiocco won the pole vault, clearing 15-02.75. First-year Hayden Kunkel placed fourth with at 14-02.75 and senior Samuel Winiarski took fifth, clearing 13-09.00.
 
Senior Abayomi Awoyomi won the triple jump, hitting a mark of 47-02.50, nearly two feet farther than second place.
 
Graduate Matt Moore finished fifth in the 60m, racing to a time of 7.03. He then went on to finish second in the 200m with a time of 22.41.
 
Junior Alex Djetto took sixth in the 400m, racing to a time of 51.49 while senior Jack Henry Whetstone finished seventh in 51.60.
 
Senior Arthur Santoro took third in the 800m with a time of 1:52.08. Junior Drew Sidamon-Eristoff finished seventh in 1:54.60 while senior Jackson Cox took eighth in 2:00.21.
 
Senior Jeff Candell finished second in the 3,000m, running a time of 9:19.79. Both Candell and first-place Joseph Jaster beat the previous meet record set in 2014. Alexander Evans finished eighth with a time of 8:32.57.
 
The 4x400 relay team of Sidamon-Eristoff, Houser, first-year Carson Page and Santoro finished third with a time of 3:22.94.
