From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics
The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team traveled
to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, for the Dickinson College Long-Short
Invitational on Saturday, September 20. The Tartans finished fourth
in the long race (8k) as the host Dickinson won the race and third
in the short race (4k) as Division II Lock Haven won. The long race
had 36 teams while the short race had 35.
In the 8k, sophomore Ryan Archer (Pittsburgh,
Pa./Vincentian Academy) finished 13th overall in 26:28.26 while
junior Brian Bollens (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Central
Catholic) finished 21st in 26:49.86. Senior Josh
Antonson (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) was 25th overall and
the third Tartan to cross in a time of 26:56.22 as
sophomore Justin Rodenburg (Erie, Colo./Peak to Peak) was
36th Joe Pane (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) was 37th
in times of 27:15.65 and 27:15.69.
In the 4k, senior George Degen (Madison, Wis./West) led
the Tartan charge with a fifth-place finish in 12:03.92.
Junior Marc-Daniel Julien (Skokie, Ill./Niles West)
crossed the line in 13th place in 12:15.36 as junior Grant
Langevin (Derry, N.H./Pinkerton Academy) was behind him in
25th place in 12:38.03. Sophomore Curtis Watro (Audubon,
Pa./Methacton) was the fourth Tartan to finish the 4k race as he
finished in 33rd in a time of 12:43.16.
