Emory Finishes Second At Gulf Coast Stampede

The Emory men's cross country team recorded a runner-up performance at the Gulf Coast Stampede Saturday morning. The event was held at the Escambia County Equestrian Center in Pensacola, Florida.  

The men's side totaled 54 points, second only to Harding University's 29 points.  Junior Lukas Mees paced the team with a season-best 8K time of 26:28 that placed him fourth out of 62 entries. Sophomore Grant Murphy was the next Eagle to score with his 26:46 ranking ninth in the field. Senior Tyler Cooke finished 11th at 26:55 while freshman Jordan Flowers came through with a 27:10 that positioned him in the No. 13 spot.  Sophomore Austin Hunt (27:27, 18th) closed out the team's scorers.
