Five individuals from the Washington University in St. Louis men's cross country team earned NCAA Division III All-Academic honors for the 2014 season, and the team was recognized with All-Academic Team honors, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
For the second year in a row, the Washington University men posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.65, which ranked second among the 152 NCAA Division III men's programs who earned All-Academic Team honors. Yeshiva University had the highest GPA on the men's side with a 3.70.
Senior Garrett Patrick was selected for All-Academic honors for the third year in a row and senior Drew Padgett earned the honor for the second straight year. Junior Adam Streicher, freshman Ian Whittall and sophomore Dillon Williams each received All-Academic accolades for the first time in their careers.
In order to qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, a team must have a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.10 through the fall semester. USTFCCCA All-Academic honors are given to individuals who have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and who placed in the top 25 percent at their respective NCAA Regional Championships. A total of 325 student-athletes representing 124 institutions earned All-Academic status on the women's side, while 246 men's student-athletes from 100 institutions were honored.
