Chicago Places Seventh at NCAA Midwest Regional

The University of Chicago men's cross country team took seventh at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday.

In the men's 8K race, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (54 points) and North Central College (60) beat the rest of the 38-team field by a wide margin. UChicago was seventh with 170 points, finishing just two points behind host Augustana College and four ahead of Washington-St. Louis. A total of 257 runners participated.

For the second-consecutive year, senior Michael Frasco was the first Maroon to cross the finish line at Regionals. He finished 10th overall with a 24:41 mark to earn his second All-Region honor. Junior Gareth Jones was 21st with a time of 24:49.0 and achieved All-Region for the second time.
