Maroons Place Second at St. Francis Invitational

In the first race of the season, the University of Chicago men's cross country team posted a strong showing at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Invitational on Friday.

St. Francis won the men's race with a score of 29. UChicago was runner-up out of 11 teams with 39 points. Junior Gareth Jones placed second in a time of 15:38.1. Fellow juniors Nick Nielsen (15:47.2) and Timofey Karginov (15:56.6) were the next highest finishers in fourth and sixth, respectively.
