Two In Top-10 Help Rochester Place Second At Roberts Wesleyan

Led by two runners in the top-10, the University of Rochester men's cross country team finished in 2nd place of 22 teams at the Roberts Wesleyan College Harry Anderson Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellowjackets got a 3rd place finish from senior Dan Nolte and a 9th place result from classmate Eric Franklin, leading UR to a team total of 86 points in the race, just two points off of team champion Oswego State.  Host Roberts Wesleyan was 3rd while Franklin Pierce and Fredonia rounded out the top-5 teams.

Nolte finished the 8k race in 25:43.8 while Franklin crossed the stripe in 26:07.9.  UR's third through fifth runners all finished within 10 seconds of one another. 

Sophomore Hunter Phinney was 27th in 26:40.9, freshman Ivan Frantz placed 29th in 26:45.1 and sophomore Benjamin Martell was 33rd in 26:49.8. 

Rochester's displacers in the race were two freshmen, Leo Orsini in 64th (28:06.0) and Ryley Robinson in 65th (28:06.2). Rounding out the Yellowjacket runners were senior Christopher Cook who finished in 83rd place and freshman Collin Gwilt who was 93rd in the 213 runner field.
