Eric Franklin Leads Rochester At UAA Championships With Sixth Place Finish

Senior Eric Franklin earned first team All-UAA honors by virtue of his sixth place finish at the UAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon at McIntosh Reserve Park. 

Franklin earns his third straight All-UAA honor after being named to the second team in his sophomore and junior seasons.  The senior finished the 8-kilometer course in 25:04.17 to wind up in sixth of the 77 runners in the field.

Overall, the Yellowjackets finished in 8th place in the team scoring, compiling a score of 186 points.  Carnegie Mellon and Washington University in St. Louis shared the team title with scores of 58 team points.

Sophomore Benjamin Martell was the second UR finisher, winding up in 44th place in 26:09.69.  Freshman teammate Ivan Frantz was 46th in 26:14.65.

Hunter Phinney finished in 26:26.30 and ended up in 50th place while Nate Conroy was the fifth UR finisher across the finish line in 26:52.58.  The Yellowjacket displacers were seniors Matt Prohaska (64th, 27:05.00) and Jake Greenberg (65th, 27:13.26). 

Finishing out the Yellowjacket lineup were sophomore Christopher Dalke in 67th, senior Alphonse Mugisha in 68th and sophomore Ankur Desai in 70th.
