Emory Takes Home First Place At North Georgia Invitational

The No. 22-ranked Emory men's cross country team came through with a first-place finish Saturday morning at the University of North Georgia Invitational. The meet was conducted at the UNG Gainesville campus in Oakwood.

The Eagles topped the nine-team field with 20 points, with SCAD Atlanta taking home runner-up honors with 53 points.  Albany State was third (104 pts.) while West Georgia ( 115 pts.) and SCAD Savannah (122 pts.) were fourth and fifth, respectively.


Emory claimed five of the top six scoring spots, led by senior Philip Edwards who paced the Emory contingent while ranking second overall in the 69-runner field, clocking an 8k time of 27:19.  Senior Max Brown was the team's No. 2 finisher and third overall with an effort of 27:27. Freshman Matt Dillon (27:38) and senior Greg Little (27:45) held down the Nos. 4 & 5 positions while junior Ryan Fan closed out the team's scorers with his performance of 27:49 good for the No. 6 spot in the field.
