In a field stacked with nationally-ranked squads, the University of Chicago men's team claimed eighth place at the Augustana College Invitational on Saturday.
UChicago's 27th-ranked men were eighth of 27 teams with 247 points. No. 1-ranked Pomona-Pitzer was the team champion with 48 points. The men's 8K race featured 276 total runners.
Graduate students John Hood and Joe Lemna were the top placers for the Maroon contingent. Hood placed 20th in a time of 24:18.5, while Lemna was 40th in 24:37.8.
