In the second, O'Brien singled and advanced to second on an error by the Violets' centerfielder, scoring junior pinch-runner Taylor Lemke (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels).

The Violets tied the game off of the program's first grand slam. Sage Scheiwiller knocked one out of the park with bases loaded to make it 4-4.

The Spartans retook the lead with three runs in the fourth inning and five more in the sixth. O'Brien finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three runs batted in, while Wede ended 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI.
