Six Chicago Student-Athletes Earn NFCA Academic Honors

From University of Chicago Athletics

Six members of the University of Chicago softball team were honored as 2013-14 All-America Scholar Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) in September.

In order to receive All-America Scholar Athlete status, a softball player must maintain a 3.50 minimum grade point average for the academic year. UChicago's six recipients included three current players and three recent graduates. The current players included senior outfielder Raechel Cloud, junior first baseman Kathleen Kohm and junior pitcher Jordan Poole, who is currently studying abroad in China during the fall quarter.

The other three honorees were graduated seniors Kaitlyn Carpenter (outfield), Julia Covello (first base/utility) and Zoe Oliver-Grey (catcher).
