Case Western Reserve University senior Annie Wennerberg pitched four-shutout innings in the first game against John Carroll University to become the program's all-time wins leader, and help the Spartans to a doubleheader sweep of the Blue Streaks, with a 8-0 win in five innings in the first game and an 11-1 triumph in the second contest.

Wennerberg's win was her 12th of the season and 53rd of her career, as she passed former Spartan Rebecca Taylor (2012-15), for the most wins in program's history.

Sophomore Nicole Doyle paced the team at the plate, going four-for-five over the two games with five runs batted in, three runs scored and one home run. Junior Maren Waldner and freshman Callie Wang each added three RBIs over the two games, including a home run from Wang.

The sweep raised the Spartans' record to 19-16 for the season. CWRU also improved to 4-3 in road games this season.

John Carroll dropped to 17-19 on the season with the two losses.

CWRU put a run on the board in each of the first two innings and then scored three runs in the third when Waldner hit an RBI double to right center and Doyle delivered a two-run home run to give the Spartans a 5-0 lead.

John Carroll scored their first run of the day in the bottom of the third, to cut the lead to 5-1. However the Spartans put the game out of reach with six runs in the fifth, extending the advantage to 11-1.
