Maren Waldner of CWRU Earns All-Region Honors From NFCA

Senior Maren Waldner of the Case Western Reserve University softball team has been honored as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced the players chosen for the 2018 NFCA Division III All-Region softball teams.

As in the past, the squad is comprised of three teams in each of the country's eight NCAA regions.

Waldner earned second team honors for her play at second base.

Waldner, the University Athletic Association Position Player of the Year and a first-team All-UAA selection, has posted one of the best years in the history of Case Western Reserve University softball. Waldner leads the UAA with .468 batting average (72-for-154), and her 72 hits currently ranks fifth in Division III. She has also hits two home runs, 14 doubles and scored a team-high 40 runs, while also driving in 35 runs. In 153 games played throughout her career, she has hit .373 with five home runs, 32 doubles and 85 RBI's.
