From Brandeis University Athletics

The Brandeis University women's basketball team and head coach Carol Simon have teamed up with the American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer initiative.

During the Judges' annual Tip-Off Tournament next weekend, when the Judges' welcome Mount Ida, Regis and Salve Regina, fans will have an opportunity to take part in fund-raising activities that will benefit the life-saving work of the American Cancer Society and its Coaches vs. Cancer initiative. The tournament begins on Saturday, November 15 with games at 1:00 and 3:00pm and continueson Sunday with the consolation game at 12:00pm and the championship immediately following.

Donations will be collected on-site, throughout the weekend, and the Brandeis University Relay for Life committee will be on hand to sell Wall of Hope cards and purple ribbons. We hope you will come out and support your team for this great cause because with everyone's help there will someday be a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) that empowers all coaches, their teams, and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer. The program leverages the personal experiences, community leadership, and professional excellence of coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities, and advocacy  programs.
