From Brandeis University Athletics

Brandeis University rookie center Olivia Shaw (Saco, Maine/Thornton Acad.) scored a career-high 20 points, the team's second-best scoring performance of the season, as the Judges led nearly wire-to-wire in a 79-56 win at Endicott College this afternoon. With the win, the Judges improve to 8-2, marking their best 10-game start since 2008-09. The win was the 390th in the career of head coach Carol Simon. The Gulls fall to 5-5 on the season.

Shaw, who made just her second career start, connected on 8-of-12 from the floor, including her third 3-pointer in the last four games. She also pulled down eight rebounds, four shy of her career-high, including four on the offensive glass. Shaw scored nine points and had five boards in the first half, 11 and 3 in the second. Junior guard Niki Laskaris (Swampscott, Mass./Swampscott) also cracked double figures with 13 points, 11 of which came in the first 20 minutes. Senior guard Hannah Cain (Gloucester, Mass./Gloucester) added five assists, while sophomore guard Sydney Sodine (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) made four steals.

Endicott put three players in double figures, led by forward Kelsey Cuddy. Cuddy stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots. Guard Nicole Catzione added 15 points, hitting on three of the Gulls' six 3-pointers, while forward Hannah Shaw added 13 points off the bench. Shaw also had four steals. Sam Charrette led EC with seven rebounds.

Brandeis ran away with the game in the first half, when they outshot Endicott 56 percent (19-34) to 29 percent (8-28) to take a 46-29 lead. The Judges also hit 6-of-9 from 3-point range in the first half. Endicott's only lead of the game came when Charette hit one of two free throws 59 seconds into the contest. Sodine answered with a put-back on the other end and Brandeis never trailed again. The Judges outshot EC, 53% to 35%, and outrebounded the hosts, 41-29.
