Head Coach Lauren Hall-Gregory and junior co-captain Megan Dawe of the New York University women's basketball team earned recognition from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Thursday, March 19.

Hall-Gregory was named the NCAA Division III WBCA Region 2 Coach of the Year. The regional award automatically nominates her for the Division III WBCA College National Coach of the Year Award, which will be announced on Monday, April 6. The Hofstra University graduate has coached the Violets to two NCAA Championship appearances in three years and has built the current program on a foundation of young talent that has matured over her three-year NYU career.

A freshman when Hall-Gregory began coaching at NYU, Dawe is now an accomplished junior forward. The co-captain was named WBCA Division III Honorable Mention All-America after helping lead the Violets to the second round of the NCAA Championship. In their tournament loss to Amherst College, Dawe eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark, the first Violet to do so since NYU Hall of Famer Jessica McEntee ('09).

Dawe was also named First Team All-UAA (University Athletic Association) earlier this season in addition to her accolade from the WBCA.
