No. 9 Bears Host Chicago to Decide UAA Title on Senior Day

The No. 9-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's basketball team concludes regular-season play by hosting the University of Chicago at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the WU Field House.

WashU (22-2, 11-2 UAA) enters the game one game behind Chicago (18-6, 12-1 UAA) in the University Athletic Association (UAA) standings. The Bears earned a 65-52 win at Chicago to open UAA play Jan. 10. Saturday's game will determine this year's UAA Championship, as well as the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. With its win over the Maroons in January, WashU can clinch both a share of the conference title and the automatic bid with another win Saturday.

Prior to the game, the Bears will honor their six seniors for Senior Day - Melissa Gilkey, Alyssa Johanson, Alexandra Keane, Alexis Mort,Maddy Scheppers and Steph Vukotic. This year's senior class has helped lead the Bears to an 89-17 record over the last four years, including a 44-11 mark in UAA play.
