Junior Lisa Murphy (McLean, Va./McLean) of the Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team was named the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III Women's National Player of the Week for the second time this season, while receiving three other weekly awards. Murphy is the first female to earn the USBWA award twice in the same season.

The junior center, who received her seventh University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week award, fifth D3hoops.com Team of the Week award and fourth Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week award, averaged 29.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in two key UAA wins over the weekend.

In Friday's 70-62 victory at home against Emory University, Murphy tallied 32 points and nine rebounds. It marked the sixth time this season she scored at least 31 points in a game. Twenty-two of her points came from the floor where she shot 11-of-16. She also converted 10-of-13 free throws, dished out three assists and blocked two shots.

On Sunday, Murphy returned to the court to lead the Tartans past 12th-ranked University of Rochester, 95-89. The junior scored 27 points, making 11-of-16 from the field and all five of her free throw attempts. She pulled down 17 rebounds, including seven offensive boards, and blocked five Yellowjacket shot attempts.

Entering the weekend, Murphy needed nine points to overtake her own school record for points in a season at 505. She has scored 556 points this year and is 72 points away from being the all-time scorer in Tartan women's basketball history. Murphy also currently leads the nation in field-goal percentage, scoring the basketball at a 75.2% clip.
