The University of Chicago women's basketball team hauled in three individual 2016-17 All-Central Region awards from D3hoops.com on Monday.

The Central Region Coach of the Year was Carissa Sain Knoche. The fifth-year UChicago head coach led the Maroons to a 19-8 overall record against one of the toughest schedules in NCAA Division III. The Maroons went 11-3 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) to finish in second place. UChicago qualified for the NCAA postseason for the first time since 2012, and reached the second round of the tournament. The Maroons defeated No. 8-ranked Wartburg College in the opening round 67-63.

Sain Knoche and her assistants were previously selected as the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year for the second time in three years. UChicago set school records for steals in a season (340), field goal attempts in a season (1,730), points in a game (113) and three-pointers in a game (15).

Britta Nordstrom capped her career with a Third Team All-Region honor. The senior forward led the team in scoring (13.0 PPG), assists (2.6 APG), steals (2.0 SPG) and field-goal percentage (.520). The First Team All-UAA forward also ranked second on the squad with 6.5 rebounds per game.

At the conclusion of her four years in the program, Nordstrom is ranked in the school's top 10 in multiple career categories. She is second in field-goal percentage (.549), sixth in free throws (241), seventh in points (1,106), seventh in field goals (423) and eighth in steals (136).

Miranda Burt was voted as the Central Region Rookie of the Year to add to her UAA Rookie of the Year award. The freshman guard started all 27 games and averaged 9.1 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.3 assists per game. Burt paced the team in free-throw percentage at .841 and in three-pointers made with 38. Her defensive pressure on the perimeter helped UChicago rank 30th in the nation in turnovers forced per game (22.2).
