From Case Western Reserve University Athletics
The Case Western Reserve University women's basketball team is proud to announce the addition of Eden Cole of Aurora, Ohio. Eden was selected by the Spartans during her 'Draft Day' on Wednesday, November 7th as part of the Team IMPACT program.
Eden, who is 10 years old and has been courageously battling Williams Syndrome since being diagnosed in 2012, has already joined the team, and was shown her new locker immediately following the draft. She will be joining the team for practices, games, team dinners, events and more during the upcoming season, which starts this Friday.
Present at the ceremony for the Spartans were Head Coach Jennifer Reimer, Assistant Coach Kelly Muffley, and three of Eden's new teammates Emma Cain, Madie Grossman and Jasmine Floyd. Eden was joined on stage by her parents and siblings, with the rest of the members of the CWRU women's basketball team, along with numerous other spectators in attendance in the audience.

Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit headquartered in Boston, Mass. that connects children facing serious or chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, forming life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes. Since 2011, Team IMPACT has matched nearly 1,600 children with more than 500 colleges and universities in 48 states, reaching over 50,000 participating student-athletes. The child joins the athletic team and the student-athletes join the child's support team. Throughout the journey, the child gains strength, camaraderie and support while the student-athletes experience lessons of courage, resiliency and perspective they can't learn in a classroom.
