From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics
The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team competed at the Westminster Invite on Saturday, September 12, as the Tartans continued their success from a year ago to start the season. Carnegie Mellon won the invite after carding a team score of 345, finishing 28 strokes ahead of second place Mount Union. The 18-hole event was held at New Castle Country Club.
The Tartans were led by sophomore Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) who entered the clubhouse with an 83. Fellow sophomores Robin Tan (Austin, Texas/Westlake) and Emma Hoskins (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) carded an 85 and 86, respectively.
Freshman Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School), in her first collegiate round,b carded a 91and sophomore Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) ended with a 101.
