"The girls were very good today once we got our legs under us," said NYU Head Coach Todd Kolean. "The back-nine was fantastic and really kept us in the first day."

Individually, Alyssa Poentis led the Violets and is tied for seventh out of 120 golfers after finishing the first round two-over 74. Jenni Bluetling is right behind her teammate and is tied for 11th at three-over 75. Catherina Li is tied for 25th after shooting a 78 (six-over) on Friday.

"Alyssa had a great day and Jenni's back-nine was one-under," continued Kolean.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Phoebe Zhao (tied for 55th at 83) and Kristen Lee (tied for 59th at 84) also competed.

- In the individual tournament, Rose Friedman shot a 79.

"We look forward to trying to chase down the three teams ahead of us," Kolean said.
