The No. 13-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team battled through 20 and 30 mile per hour winds gusts to shoot a 331 on the opening day of the Joe Duncan Invitational hosted by Rhodes College at Windyke West Country Club.
In a field that featured five top-25 teams, WashU sits in sixth place out of eight teams. No. 1-ranked and host Rhodes College has a 14-shot lead after an opening round 301.
Freshman Chloe DiPetrillo sits in a tie for 17th place after an opening round nine-over 81. Senior Connie Zhou (82, T-22nd place) and junior Jessica Wibawa (83, T24th place) also sit in the top-25 in the individual standings.
Meg Healy of Rhodes fired a one-under 71 and has a two-shot lead.
The final round of the Joe Rhodes Invitational will conclude with 18 holes Monday beginning at 9 a.m.
