Erin Drolet Leads No. 8 Bears on Day One at Jekyll Island

Sophomore Erin Drolet fired a three-over 75 to lead the No. 8-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team on day one of the 13th Annual Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational held at the historic Indian Mound course in Jekyll Island, Ga.

WashU sits in eighth place after an opening round 316. Whitman college fired a 299 and sits in first place out of 23 teams from from 15 states make up this year's 120-player field.

Drolet, who missed the first semester of play with an injury, birdied two of the first four holes and was even after nine holes. She posted a three-over 39 on the back with seven pars. Drolet is tied for 11th place in the individual standings.

Junior Jessica Wibawa is tied for 29th place after a seven-over 79. Wibawa fired a 39 on the front and a 40 on the back, which included a birdie on No. 14.

The second round of the tees off Saturday at 8 a.m. (ET).
