No. 7 Washington University Leads UAA Women's Golf Championship After Day One

The No. 7-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team shot a 322 to take the lead after day one of the 2016 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship held at RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Fla.

This marked the first competition of the 2016 spring season for the Bears.

WashU has a five-stroke lead over second place and No. 12-ranked New York University (327), while Carnegie Mellon University (364) rounds out the three-team field.

Sophomore Erin Drolet, who missed the fall season with an injury, fired an opening round 77 and sits in first place in the individual standings. Freshman Hanna Jia is three strokes back in fourth place.

The final round of the 2016 UAA Championship will conclude with 18 holes Sunday beginning at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
