Carnegie Mellon Places Fourth at Generals Invitational; Two School Records Set

For the second straight year at the Generals Invitational hosted by Washington & Lee University, the Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team set the school record for the lowest two-round score recorded with a 643 (320-323). The 36-hole event was played at the Lexington Country Club in Lexington, Virginia. The Tartans 643 placed them fourth as a team with Wittenberg University winning the invitational with a score of 620 (311-309).
    
Junior Summer Kitahara (Greenwich, Conn./Rye Country Day) led the Tartans with a 153 after carding rounds of 75 and 78. The junior topped her previous two-round school record by five strokes and placed sixth individually.   

Freshman Yedin Lui (Idaho Falls, Idaho) shot a 159 (77-82) for the event. Her score is the third best two-round score in school history. Sophomore Carly Jordan (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) ended the event with a 162 after carding back-to-back rounds of 81.

Freshman Lavonca Davis (Pickerington, Ohio) entered the clubhouse with an 82 on Tuesday, as she finished with a 169 after firing an 87 on Monday afternoon. Junior Isabelle Tseng (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro South) finished with a 187 (88-99).
    
The Tartans had one individual enter the invitational, as junior Ginger Glass (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) shot a 198 (103-95).
