Samantha Haubenstock Atop The Leaderboard as Bears Tie for Fourth at Jekyll Island

The No. 21-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team tied for fourth place in the 14th Annual Jekyll Island Women's Golf Collegiate Invitational held Friday-Sunday at the historic Indian Mound course in Georgia as freshman Samantha Haubenstock tied for the lead individually to lead WashU.

In a field that featured 10 teams ranked in the Golfstat top-25, WashU shot 330 on the final day of the invitational. No. 6 Berry College moved into a tie with WashU on the final day as both teams shot 962 on the weekend. No. 13 New York University (934) led the field, while No. 4 Rhodes College (943) and No. 12 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (946) followed.

Haubenstock finished Sunday's round with three birdies and was one of only four golfers to shoot below 80 in all three rounds. On the weekend she shot 230 (77, 74, 79), which tied her atop the leaderboard with CMS' Kelly Ransom and Berry's Sydney Weaver.

Sophomore Chloe DiPetrillo also scored a top-25 finish as she tied for 23rd shooting 239 (76, 81, 82). She totaled 10 pars during round three while leading the Bears with a 4.37 stroke average on par-4 holes throughout the weekend. 

Freshman Angelica Harris 248 (80, 81, 87), junior Erin Drolet 252 (83, 80, 89) and junior Hanna Jia 254 (90, 82, 82) rounded out the Bears lineup on the weekend.

The Bears lineup had the top stroke average on par-5 holes, averaging 5.10 to outpace NYU's 5.18. WashU also finished with the fourth highest total of birdies with 19.
