Samantha Haubenstock Moves Into Second Place as Bears Fire Identical 316 Round Two Score at Jekyll Island

The No. 21-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team shot an identical 316 score on the second day of the 14th Annual Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational held at the historic Indian Mound course in Jekyll Island, Ga.

WashU currently stands in fourth place of 23 at the conclusion of the second round with a combined score of 632. The 2017 University Athletic Association (UAA) Champion, New York University, fired a 298 second round score to move into first place with 616 (318, 298) score.

Freshman Samantha Haubenstock climbed from a tie in fourth place individually to second after a day two score of 74. The Weston, Fla.-native eagled on the third hole and added two birdies on two other par-5 holes. Haubenstock is the only competitor with an eagle thus far on the weekend.

Junior Erin Drolet (80), sophomore Chloe DiPetrillo (81), freshman Angelica Harris (81) and junior Hanna Jia (82) all finished the second day with scores in the low 80s to keep the Bears within 16 strokes of NYU.

WashU has the third most pars (93) and is tied for fourth with in birdies (13) while it leads the field on par-5 holes with a 4.98 stroke average.
