NYU Places Third at Jack Leaman Invitational

From NYU Athletics

The New York University women's golf team, back on the course for the first time in three weeks, finished in third place at the Jack Leaman invitational.

Hosted by Amherst College at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, MA, the competition was scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23.

The Violets shot 308 on Saturday, but Sunday's scheduled round was canceled due to heavy rain.

Amherst and Williams College both finished two strokes ahead of NYU.

The Violets' Camilla Chung shot two-over-par 74 on Saturday and tied for third place. She was joined among the top-10 by teammate Tiya Chowdary, who carded a 76 and tied for sixth place in the 63-person field.

A pair of Violets, Michelle Zhou and Nalinda Wanikpun, shot 79 and tied for 18th place.

Irene Park also competed for NYU and tied for 26th place after shooting 80.
