Case  Wrestlers Place Seventh at Citrus Invitational in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Led by a pair of top-five finishers in freshmen David Brunk (Hood River, Ore./Hood River Valley) and Luke Marcelli (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson), the Case Western Reserve University wrestling team placed seventh at the Citrus Invitational hosted at Cardinal Gibbons High School.

Brunk went 3-2 at 174 pounds and pinned two of his opponents to run his season total to three. In 16 matches this season, Brunk is 8-8.

Marcelli posted a 4-2 record at 149 with three wins via decision and one by his first technical fall of the season. With his performance, the rookie improved to a team-best 17-5 this season.

The Spartans now return north and will be back in action on Friday and Saturday, January 10-11 at the Budd Whitehill Duals in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
