The squad is coming off of an impressive showing at the NCAA East Regional on March 1, in Roanoke, VA. NYU finished the 18-team event in second place, with Jacob Donato (125), Nathan Pike (133), Brandon Jones (141), and Patrick Sheehan (184) all qualifying for this weekend's national tournament.

Jones (21-3) was the only NYU grappler to earn a seed, as he was awarded the #4 spot in his weight class. The senior will wrestle Ben Henle of St. John's University (MN) in the round of 16. If Jones and fifth-seeded Cary Palmer of Hunter College each win their first bouts, the two will square off for the fourth time this season in the quarterfinals. Palmer defeated Jones in their first two meetings, but the NYU captain was able to win the third en route to his third-consectuive NCAA Regional title.

Sheehan (23-3), NYU's second regional champion, is not seeded and will face Riley Lefever of Wabash College (IN). Lefever is the top seed at 184 pounds.

Donato (10-11) and Pike (21-6) are both unseeded. Each grappler finished as the regional runner-up in their respective weight-classes. Donato is set to square off against seventh-seeded Jake Agnitsch of Wartburg College (IA) in the round of 16, while Pike has a preliminary match against Brandon Preston of Trine University (IA). With a win, the 133-pounder would wrestle second-seeded Alex Gomez of Ithaca College (NY).

The double-elimination tournament is set to begin at 11:00 am on Friday, March 13, at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA.
