Maroons Take Seventh at MSOE Invitational

The University of Chicago wrestling team had two runner-up finishes and placed seventh as a team at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Invitational on Saturday.

UChicago took seventh out of 11 teams with 52.5 points scored. Central (Iowa) College won with 154.5 points.

The day's top performances came from junior Paul Papoutsis and sophomore Nick Ferraro. Both wrestlers went 3-1 on the day and finished in second place in their respective brackets. Papoutsis recorded one technical fall and one major decision before losing 3-2 in the final. Ferraro pinned one opponent on the day.

In his first action of the year, sophomore Devan Richter placed third at the 125 pounds. He posted a 4-1 record with two pins. Freshman teammate Louis Demarco was fourth in the same bracket with a 2-2 mark.
