The University of Chicago women's soccer team wrapped up its west coast swing with a 2-0 victory at University of Redlands on Sunday.

The Maroons improved to 2-0-0 and the Bulldogs fell to 1-1-0.

UChicago threatened early on several occasions, forcing three corner kicks in the first 12 minutes of the game. The Maroons then got an immediate boost from their bench corps. One minute after entering the game, junior forward Mary Bittner scored her first goal of the season at 26:44. Freshman defender Mia Calamari, who entered the match at the same time as Bittner, was credited with the assist.

Both teams came close to scoring early in the second half. Redlands hit the crossbar on a shot in the 56th minute, and UChicago senior midfielder Sara Kwan smacked the crossbar as well in the 61st minute. The visitors increased their lead to 2-0 at the 74:15 mark. Freshman defender Kaitlin Price scored her first collegiate goal on a header from junior midfielder Anna Goddi.

In goal, senior Mallory Morse (2-0-0) started the game and played the first half, while senior Jacinda Reid played the second half. The goalkeepers collected three saves each.

Redlands led in total shots 13-7, while UChicago owned a 7-3 advantage on corner kicks.
