Seven UAA Women's Soccer Student-Athletes Named Academic All-District Honorees

Seven UAA women's soccer student-athletes were named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Team.

The team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separatelyrecognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided intoeight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. 

The UAA honorees:

Camille Williams, Carnegie Mellon University

A defender for the Tartans, Williams helped the team to an 8-8-1 record with six shutouts this season. She has been an All-UAA honoree twice, starting the past two-and-a-half years while serving as captain in 2018.

Away from the field, Williams maintains a 3.95 GPA as a chemistry major with a minor in business. As a member of Plaidvocates, a peer health and wellness advocacy program for athletes, Williams initiated, coordinated and executed the idea of an "Athlete Cook Off" workshop to promote healthy eating. The junior is an undergraduate researcher of organic and polymer synthesis, spent the summer at LORD Corporation in Erie, Pennsylvania, as a student associate on the analytical chemistry team and was previously an intern in an inorganic chemistry lab at the University of Cincinnati.

Shivani Beall, Emory University

Beall, an Atlanta, GA native, has turned in an outstanding campaign for the Eagles, playing in all 18 games including 17 in a starting role. Beall has recorded career-highs in both goals and points with her 22 points marking the most by an Emory women’s soccer player since the 2007 season. A season highlight for the junior came on October 17th in the team’s 4-0 win at home against Covenant where she set a career-best with three goals, earning the first Eagle women’s soccer hat trick in nearly five seasons. Beall owns a 3.94 grade-point average while majoring in Biology.

Katie Donovan, University of Chicago

Donovan earned a spot on the Academic All-District squad at her goalkeeper position for the second-consecutive year. Donovan posted a 4-3 record in the 2018 season with a 0.86 goals against average, 28 saves and .800 save percentage. The junior has twice been named All-Region, All-UAA and UAA All-Academic. Donovan is UChicago's all-time leader in goals against average (0.46) while ranking second in wins (41).

Jenna McKinney, University of Chicago

McKinney received her second-straight Academic All-District women's soccer accolade – she was a CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American in 2017. A three-time UAA All-Academic selection, McKinney has totaled 43 goals, 21 assists and 107 points in her career. The senior midfielder ranks second all-time in program history in goals and points. McKinney is a two-time All-American and four-time All-UAA player. Her senior campaign featured 10 goals and two assists.

Mackenzie Peebles, University of Chicago

McPeebles was an Academic All-District pick for the second year in-a-row. The junior defender scored three goals with one assist this season while helping anchor a defense that shutout six opponents. Peebles is a two-time First Team All-UAA and UAA All-Academic Team selection. She was previously a 2017 Third Team All-American as well.

Darcy Cunningham, Washington University

Cunningham, a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, started 14 of 15 games played and had seven goals and seven assists for 21 points. She netted three game-winning goals, including in the 3-0 win at No. 22 Loras (Aug. 31) and in a 2-1 overtime victory vs. Emory Sept. 29. Cunningham was second in the UAA in assists and shots (68) and fourth in game-winning goals.

A two-time Academic All-UAA selection, Cunningham has a 3.46 grade point average while majoring in marketing.

Katy Mockett, Washington University

Mockett has started 16 of 17 games played on the back line this season. She has been part of the defense that has recorded 13 shutouts and allowed four goals in 17 games played. As a team, WashU ranks fourth in NCAA Division III in goals against average (0.235) and seventh in shutout percentage (0.765). 

A 2018 Academic All-UAA selection, Mockett has a 4.0 GPA while majoring in systems engineering.
