Rochester Posts 2nd Consecutive Win,  Topping Allegheny

MEADVILLE, PA- Backed by eight event wins, the University of Rochester women's swimming and diving team earned dual meet wins on back-to-back nights, topping Allegheny College 170-130 on Saturday night.

The Yellowjackets move to 5-3 in duals this season after beating crosstown rival Nazareth on Friday night.

Junior Lauren Bailey kept her strong season going, earning four wins on Saturday. She won the 100 and 200 butterfly events while also being first to the wall on two relays, the 200 freestyle and 400 medley team races.

Joining her on the winning 200 free relay were freshmen Emily Simon and Khamai Simpson along with sophomore Vicky Luan. UR's 'B' squad placed second in the event. The 400 medley relay squad consisted of senior Karen Meess, freshman Alex Veech, Bailey and Luan.

Meess and Luan also were individual winners on the day, winning the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle respectively. Simspon also won the 50 freestyle and freshman Jen Enos was the other Yellowjacket winner in the 1000 freestyle.

In the diving events, freshman Danielle Neu had a record breaking performance on the 1 meter board. Her six-dive score of 266.80 beat the score of Patricia McHale from 2006 (252.50). She placed 2nd in that event along with the 3 meter event. Her score there was 271.35. Neu qualified for the NCAA regional on both boards with her scores.
