Tartan Women Finish Fourth at UAA Championships

As the final results were calculated from the 2014 University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming and Diving Championships, which took place over three days and in two cities, the Carnegie Mellon University women's team finished fourth with 1,140 points. Emory University pulled out the team victory with 2,055 points as Washington University placed second with 1,270 points.

The 400-yard medley relay team which set a new school record with a time of 3:50.39 earned All-UAA third team by placing third behind the swim from sophomore Kira Singhaus (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West), sophomore Felicia Wang (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley), freshman Gillian Crews (Fairfax, Va./Oakton) and senior Soleil Phan (Irvine, Calif./Beckman). The 200-yard medley relay team of Singhaus, Wang, Crews and freshman Amanda Kuhn (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) also earned third-team honors placing finishing in a time of 1:45.95.

Senior Megan Garvey (West Chester, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly at her final UAA Championships with a time of 2:04.28, which also set a new school record, to earn All-Association honors.
