Maggie Dillione Breaks Own CWRU Record on Final Day of UAA Invitational

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Senior co-captain Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) broke her own school record in the 100-yard butterfly as the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming & diving team concluded competition at the 2014 University Athletic Association Invitational at Veale Natatorium.

CWRU hosted a two-day invitational with the University of Chicago and the University of Rochester (N.Y.) due to inclement weather in Atlanta and travel issues throughout the week for schools in the UAA. Emory University (Ga.) hosted a two-day UAA Championship on Friday and Saturday with the four remaining conference schools. The championship was originally scheduled as a three-day meet before Mother Nature intervened. Results from the two meets will be combined on Monday to determine team standings and All-UAA awards.

Dillione swam a 55.95 during morning prelims then bettered her mark during finals with a time of 55.64. Dillione's previous mark of 56.14 came back in December.

In addition, Dillione's fellow senior co-captain Sara Tillie (Fallston, Md./Fallston) hit an NCAA "B" cut with a 400 individual medley time of 4:35.48 during finals. Yesterday, Tillie broke her own school record in the 200 IM.
