Sara Tillie and Brianna Cain Break CWRU Records on Day One of UAA Invitational

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Senior co-captain Sara Tillie (Fallston, Md./Fallston) and junior Brianna Cain (Perry, Ohio/Perry) each broke school records to lead the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming & diving team on the first day of the 2014 University Athletic Association Invitational at Veale Natatorium.

CWRU is hosting a two-day invitational with the University of Chicago and the University of Rochester (N.Y.) due to inclement weather in Atlanta and travel issues throughout the week for schools in the UAA. Emory University (Ga.) hosted a two-day UAA Championship on Friday and Saturday with the four remaining conference schools. The championship was originally scheduled as a three-day meet before Mother Nature intervened. Results from the two meets will be combined to determine team standings and All-UAA awards.

Tillie broke her own school record in the 200-yard individual medley and improved her NCAA "B" cut with a time of 2:07.33. Cain also bettered her own record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.69.

In addition, senior co-captain Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) set the pool record in the 200 fly with a finals time of 2:03.08.
