Case Western Reserve Women Earn CSCAA Team Scholar All-America Award

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

For the fourth season in a row, the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming & diving team has earned the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team Award for the first semester. The Spartans finished the fall semester with a team grade point average of 3.33.

The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming & diving teams that have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The distinction is presented annually to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester, and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships (winter/spring).

Earlier this winter, 13 of CWRU's women's swimming & diving student-athletes were named to the UAA All-Academic Team. That team is comprised of student-athletes who have completed at least one full year of college study and who carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.30. The 13 honorees represent more than half of the roster members eligible for the award.

In the pool this season, the Spartans (6-4) combined to set a total of five individual school records.

The CSCAA is the oldest coaches' organization in America. In addition to Scholar All-American Awards, the CSCAA recognizes All-American Swimmers and Divers at the NCAA Championship each year.
