NYU Breaks Four School Records at UAA Championships

New York University's women's swimming & diving team has completed day two of the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championships, which are being held Wednesday-Saturday, February 11-14, at Emory University's Madeline Jude Brown Aquatic Center in Atlanta, GA.

The Violets are currently in fourth place of eight teams with 309 points. Host Emory leads the pack with 699 points.

The Violets set new NYU records in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:35.14) and the 400-yard medley relay (3:48.45). The 200-yard freestyle relay team was made up of freshman Serena Yan, sophomore Elise Gibbs, freshman Isabelle Kitze, and senior captain Emily Doerner. The 400-yard medley relay swimmers were Doerner, Yan, Ktize, and sophomoe Katie WebberDoerner also broke an NYU record in the 100-yard backstroke (55.74) during her performance in the 400-yard medley relay. 

Kitze also did well individually, finishing fourth in the 50-yard freestyle preliminaries. She broke her own team record by posting a time of 23.97.
