Rochester 400 Freestyle Relay Breaks Own Record at UAA Championships

Rochester finished a highly successful run at the University Athletic Association women's Swimming & Diving Championships at Emory University by earning one NCAA provisional qualifying score and breaking a school record in a different event.

All-in-all, the Yellowjackets accumulated 806.5 team points and finished sixth in the standings. Host Emory won the women's title.
 
Lauren Bailey had the provisional time individually. She was seventh in the 200 yard butterfly, clocked in 2:05.56.
 
The women's 400 yard freestyle relay just missed an NCAA provisional qualifier, but did break the Rochester school record which was set at the NCAA Championships last spring.
 
Rochester finished fifth in the 400 free relay, timed in 3:31.73. The school record was 3:32.46, set by Bailey, Khamai Simpson, Emily Simon, and Vicky Luan. This time, the relay was basically the same with the exception of Hongjue Wang swimming the first leg, followed by Simpson, Simon, and Luan.
 
Jennifer Enos came within three seconds of her own school record in the 1,650 yard freestyle. She finished 11th overall in 17:43.48.
 
Rochester had four other women finish in the B finals in three events, In the 100 yard freestyle, Wang was 15th (:53.44) and Simon was 16th (:53.58). Julie Herman finished 16th in the 200 yard backstroke (2:10.82). Alex Veech was 13th in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:27.48).
 
On the one meter diving board, Danielle Neu was third individually with a score of 391.35 for 11 dives. Joanna Wallace was eighth with a score of 348.55, and Carrie DeMoulin was 10thoverall, scoring 339.80 points.
