Rochester Posts Three Provisional Times at UAA Championships

From University of Rochester Athletics

Rochester produced three provisional qualifying times, had one third place finisher in a sprint race, and placed two women in the top four finishers on the three meter board. All in all, a strong start to the University Athletic Association swimming and diving championships at Emory University.

With five swimming events complete in addition to the three-meter diving, Rochester sits in sixth place (out of eight). The Yellowjackets have 275 points.

Vicky Luan was part of two qualifying performances. She swam the third leg of the opening 200 freestyle relay with Lauren Bailey, Khamai Simpson, and Emily Simon. The quartet was clocked in 1:35.11, which cut .37 off the morning qualification time. That surpassed the last time selected for the 2014 NCAA Championships.

Luan was third individually in the 50 freestyle. Her time of :23.65 surpassed the final 2014 qualifying time selected. Simon was eighth in the same race - :24.48.

On the three-meter board, Danielle Neu was second with a score of 412.25 for 11 dives. Joanna Wallace was fourth overall, scoring a 384.05.

Rochester's 400 medley relay was sixth (3:51.69) in a provisional time. The swimmers were Julia Herman, Alex Veech, Bailey, and Luan. Bailey was 13th in the 200 IM (2:08.13).
