The New York University women's swimming & diving team has completed day three at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, which are being held Wednesday-Saturday, March 15-18, at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, TX.

Heading into the fourth and final day of the competition, the Violets currently sit in 8th place with 93.5 points, trailing Washington & Lee University in seventh place by .5 points. Emory University leads with 471.5 points.

"We have one day left and I am expecting us to finish on a strong note," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "We are getting faster and faster as the meet goes on. Tomorrow should be very exciting."

The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Noel Leung, Grace Wakabayashi, Hannah Bergh, and Hannah Bub shattered the team record in the event by more than two seconds, posting a time of 7:30.28. The quartet took eighth place, earning All-America status.

Elise Gibbs was the top individual finisher for the Violets on Saturday, taking 14th place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.07) and garnering Honorable Mention All-America status.

"Just a tremendous effort today and I am blown away by how fast they are swimming," added Miele "The times they are posting are incredible. It's a testament to how hard they have worked this year."
