Yellowjackets Fall to Geneseo

The University of Rochester posted four event wins, but it wasn't enough as host SUNY Geneseo won a women's swimming dual meet by a score of 146-95 on Friday evening.

The Yellowjackets drop to 9-2 overall in dual competition on the year and finish off the dual meet season tomorrow afternoon against RIT at the Speegle-Wilbraham Complex.  Geneseo with the win improves to 6-2 on the year and also will compete on Saturday, traveling to Oswego. 

UR's 200 medley relay got the meet off to a quick start for the Yellowjackets as the team of Erica Hughes, Alex Veech, Anna Mucci and Emily Simon were winners of the event in 1:52.93.

The Yellowjackets had three other event winners on the night, with Shannon Cahalan touching first in the 200 butterfly in 2:14.82 while Monica Jackson was first in the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.56.  Senior Danielle Neu kept her strong season going with a win in the 3-meter diving event, posting a score of 447.50.

Neu also led a set of four individuals who posted runner-up finishes on Friday.  She was second in the 1-meter diving event with her score of 432.60.  Becca Selznick wound up second in the 200 freestyle in 1:58.47, Simon was runner-up in the 50 freestyle in 25.13 seconds and Tess Minigell finished in second in the 500 freestyle with her time of 5:22.16.

Rochester's 200 freestyle relay team of Selznick, Caitlynn Weeden, Stephanie Chen and Simon finishing with the second fastest time as well, clocking in at 1:41.07.

Selznick and Hughes finished third in the 100 freestyle and 200 backstroke respectively while Jennifer Enos was the top 'Jacket finisher in the 1650 freestyle.  Monica Jackson led UR swimmers to the wall in the 200 IM.
