The New York University women's swimming & diving team completed day two of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday, March 22. The meet is being held in Indianapolis, IN, from Wednesday-Saturday, March 21-24.

The Violets, who are ranked #6 in the nation by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), currently sit in 10th place out of 41 teams with 44 points. Emory University leads with 318 points.

The top finisher for NYU on Thursday was the 400-yard medley relay team of May Li, Honore Collins, Erica Yuen, and Sydney Catron. The foursome took ninth place in a time of 3:47.07.

"Our women's 400 medley placed 16th this morning and just squeaked into the finals," explained Head Coach Trevor Miele. "Tonight, they killed it. They dominated the race, moved up to 9th and won the consolation final."

Collins was the top individual Violet finisher on Thursday, capturing 12th place in the 400-yard IM in a time of 4:25.36. Yuen was not far behind, finishing 16th in the 100-yard butterfly (56.41).

"Honore posted a lifetime best today in the 400 IM and gained great experience in the event at the national level," continued Miele. "Erica had a great day. She posted her best time and was able to earn Honorable Mention All-America in the 100 fly. It's always impressive when a freshman can come in and make an immediate impact at NCAA's."
