Yellowjackets Earn Flurry of Top Finishes at CWRU Meet

The Rochester women's swimming and diving team tallied up eight top-three finishes on Saturday afternoon while competing at a quad meet hosted at Case Western Reserve University.
 
The Yellowjackets emerged with a triple-dual meet record of 1-2.  UR beat Grove City 194-103, but lost to host CWRU 199-100 and Gannon 149-142.
 
On the day, Rochester posted two event wins with Tess Minigell touching first in the 1000 freestyle in 11:05.99 and Monica Jackson in the 200 breaststroke in 2:30.04.  Jackson was also runner-up in the 100 butterfly in 59.65 seconds.
 
Becca Selznick had two runner-up finishes, coming in the 100 freestyle (54.16 seconds) and the 200 freestyle (1:58.36).  Amina N'Gambwa also had a strong result in the 200 IM, clocking in 2:15.85, good for 2nd place.
 
Rochester's 200 freestyle relay team of Selznick, Sofia Guarnieri, Caitlynn Weeden and Erica Hughes closed out the meet with a 3rd place result in 1:41.82.  Joining the relay with third place finishes were Kelsey Bartlett in the 200 backstroke (2:09.63) and Minigell in the 500 freestyle (5:26.42).
 
Other top finishers on the day for UR included Jackson placing 4th in the 100 breaststroke, Emily Brzac touching 4th in the 1000 freestyle and Hughes finishing 5th in the 100 back.
