From Emory University Athletics

Members of the Emory University swimming & diving teams are set to participate in this year's Swim Across America event on September 23 at Lake Lanier.

Each year the Swim Across America organization holds charity swims throughout the United States with the hopes of raising money to help fund cancer research, clinical trials, and patient programs. Since its inception in 1992, Swim Across America has raised over 100 million dollars for cancer research and clinical trials and is continuing to grow every year.

This fall, the Eagles are once again participating in the Open Water 5K event to raise money for cancer researchers in the local Atlanta community. The team has set a goal to raise $30,000.
