Emory University claimed its second win of its West Coast trip on Wednesday afternoon, as the second-ranked Eagles defeated Azusa Pacific University, the 17th-ranked team in Division II, by a 7-2 score in Azusa, California.
The Eagles improved to 7-2 with the win, while Azusa Pacific dropped to 7-4 with the loss.
Emory received doubles victories from sophomore Melissa Goodman and junior Beatrice Rosen 8-6 at second doubles and from freshman Bridget Harding and sophomore Michelle Satterfield 8-4 at third doubles.
The Eagles then went on to win five of the six singles contests, with victories coming from Satterfield in the second match, sophomore Katarina Su in the third contest, Goodman at fourth singles, Harding in the fifth match and freshman Julie Fowler at sixth singles.
