Judges Defeat UAA Rival Rochester at Home

#31 Brandeis women's tennis won on Saturday, as they played UAA rival University of Rochester to decision and won 5-1. The Judges improve to 2-5, while the YellowJackets fall to 2-5.

The Judges took two of the three doubles matches. Rookie Sophia He (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. / Spackenkill) and sophomore Charlotte Aaron (Phoenix, Ariz. / Arcadia) won the #2 matchup 8-5 and seniors Emily Eska (Princeton, Mass. / Wachusett Regional) and Maya Vasser (New Rochelle, N.Y. / New Rochelle) won the #3 matchup 8-2. In the #1 matchup, Rochester's Christine Ho and Camila Garcia took down sophomore Haley Cohen (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Laurel Springs) and rookie Olivia Leavitt (Falmouth, Maine / Falmouth), 8-3.

The Judges swept singles action, not even losing a set. Cohen and Leavitt were able to get revenge on Ho and Garcia, as Cohen beat Ho 6-3, 6-3 and Leavitt took down Garcia without losing a game, 6-0, 6-0. Rookie Keren Khromchenko (Manalapan, N.J. / Academy of Allied Health and Science) clinched the match for Brandeis, beating Molly Goodman 6-1, 6-1 to give the Judges the decisive fifth victory.
